Greater Atlanta Racing Pigeon Club
Gold Band Program
Purchase fifty (50) Gold Bands from World of Wings so they will be available to
club members by January 1, and the club will have an early pick of breeding pairs
for our two donated birds.
Each GARPC member, as of March 1, will receive one Gold Band and have the option
to buy one additional band for $10 at or prior to the March regular club meeting.
These two Gold Bands (AHPI) are the only ones eligible for the GARPC Gold Band
Race. The numbers will be recorded by the GARPC treasurer. Amended 3/2/02 - New
members after March 1 may receive a free GOLD BAND and buy a second one for $10
and compete in our GOLD BAND race.
Gold bands not sold by the March club meeting will be offered to Combine members
at $10 each (no limit) on a first come basis, BUT WILL NOT be eligible for the
GARPC Gold Band Race.
If you fly young birds, you must fly your own birds. If you do not fly young birds,
you may consign your birds to another flyer in the club.
The owner of the fastest eligible Gold Banded bird in the first 200 mile YB race
will get the donated AHPI bird with the smallest band number. The owner of the
fastest eligible Gold Banded bird in the last 300 mile YB race will receive the
donated APHI bird with the largest band number. Amended 3/2/02. If the flyer who
wins the first GOLD BAND race also wins the second GOLD BAND race, the second
place eligible flyer of the second race will win the WOW bird with the highest
number.
The GARPC president will appoint a committee of three to pick which pairs of Gold
Band breeders our club wants youngsters from as soon as the list of breeding pairs
is available.
A GARPC officer will notify the World of Wings manager via e-mail or in writing
of the clubs choice of Gold Band youngsters, with a CC copy to each of the of
the other GARPC officers. The clubs choice Gold Band breeding pairs will also
be recorded in the GARPC club minutes.
